One of the newest advances in orthodontics is Invisalign. In the past, straightening teeth meant only metal or clear braces. Now you can be a candidate for a clear, “invisible” method, with a patented system using 3-D computer imaging. A series of custom, clear aligners are manufactured just for you that fit over your teeth. They gradually straighten the teeth and there is no metal or wires. How Does Invisalign Work?

Your teeth will be gently moved using a series of custom aligners. Dr. Fotovat is a Certified Invisalign Specialist, and will design these sets of clear aligners to move your teeth in a systematic and controlled manner. You will wear each aligner for about 2-3 weeks before you go to the next set of aligners. As the weeks pass, your teeth move a little at a time, and you will be able to see your teeth straightening. Dr. Fotovat will determine the number of aligners that your specific case needs, and he will monitor your progress when he sees you about every 8 weeks. You will be shown how to wear and remove your aligners. If you want, you can be involved with your progress by requesting to view the “Clin-check” computer program, which will simulate how your teeth should be moving at each stage of your treatment.
